AT HANNAH BEECH SKIN SCIENCE WE RECOGNISE THE FACT THAT SOME CLIENTS PREFER A WHOLLY HOLISTIC APPROACH TO THEIR SKIN REJUVENATION TREATMENT AND REGIME. THIS PROCESS WAS FIRST DISCOVERED IN 1952 BY STANLEY COHEN AND RITA LEVI-MONTALCINI WHO LED THE WAY FOR THE SEPARATION OF RED BLOOD CELLS AND PLASMA. THE PLATELETS IN THE PLASMA COULD BE UTILISED FOR THE REPAIRMENT OF TRAUMATISED MUSCLES.
This same principle can today be used to stimulate collagen production. Micro-needling the platelet rich plasma into the whole face reduces the presence of fine lines and wrinkles and removes traces of scarring.
As a trained clinical nurse Hannah Beech is qualified for the removal of blood samples. These are centrifugally spun and the plasma separated. The plasma is micro-needled or injected into the relative skin areas. This process can take about an hour. The removal of the blood samples is no different to taking a medical sample. The introduction of the plasma into the skin will create a ‘tingling’ effect. This feeling can be reduced with the application of lidocaine cream. The skin will become slightly inflamed for up to 72 hours. Care needs to be taken during this period with a deep hydration moisturiser being used after 24 hours. The true benefit is this is a wholly natural process utilising the natural body rejuvenation system to enhance the skin.
